WRITING TIPS FOR NEWBIES PT 1: WHY I NEED TO IMPROVE MY WRITING SKILLS

If you are an online writer or you intend to make money by writing online, then this article will be very good for you. The reason for this is because knowing how to write is not the only requirement needed to be an online writer. It is also not the only requirement required to make money with online writing jobs. If you have read any of my posts on online writing (see 7 FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE HOW MUCH YOU CAN EARN WITH ONLINE WRITING JOBS), you will know that your writing skill is one of the things that influence how much you can earn from online writing jobs. So having a quality writing skill is very important if you are going to earn big from online writing work.

One of the misconceptions that people have about online writing work is that you can earn large if you can write. But this is not the truth. While it is true that you can earn by just writing, you will only earn large if you can write well. The good thing about online writing job is that even though the love for writing may be a gift, it can also be acquired. Another wrong opinion is that some persons think that the only requirements to earn big are;

1. To love to write and
2. To be a gifted writer or to have writing as your talent.

One mistake that most people make with talent is that they do not realise that having talent is not necessary enough; and I will tell you why. When I came online to look for a job I came because I wanted to raise money to publish my book. So the major type of job that I was looking for was a writing job and I almost (but never) fell for a lot of scams, see SCAM ALERT: ONLINE WRITING JOB SCAMS. I finally became a freelance writer and I felt that because I love writing (and I believe it is one of my gifts) writing jobs were going to be a piece of cake. Well I was wrong; because even though I loved to write, I still hard a lot of things to learn. Knowing how to ghostwrite something on virtually any topic is not enough to earn big with online writing jobs. But this is what we would naturally think. And I discovered that even talented/gifted singers need to be trained by individuals on how best to use their talent. The reason for this is that a talent/gift cannot be effective until it is properly groomed and made to mature. This means that as a writer you will need to improve your writing skill whether writing is your talent or not. So if you want to earn big from online writing jobs, then you will need to improve your writing skills. To be continued...
